An AI-driven challenge to improve Indian traffic mobility through image annotation and model building
The AI for Urban Mobility initiative at IISc, supported by Ministry of Education, AIRAWAT and Bangalore Traffic Police, is using AI to ease traffic congestion, improve safety and enhance mobility planning. This hackathon will create the largest annotated traffic image dataset for India, contributing to reduced greenhouse gas emissions, better air quality.

Top participants in the AI model building round will have the opportunity to for internships at Indian Institute of Science (IISc), to gain invaluable experience in AI and urban mobility research.
All participants who complete sufficient and accurate number of labels and rounds will be given a participation certificate from IISc to recognize their contribution to the crowdsourced effort.

First phase of the hackathon completes. Top teams will be invited to the final in-person round at IISc.
Top 20 teams will build AI models in-person at IISc using the collected annotated data.
Results will be announced and winners will be awarded prizes at IISc Bangalore.
By registering for this competition, the participants agree to the following official rules:
All team members must be enrolled as students in a college in India at the time of registration.
Each team may have between 2-4 members. An individual can be a member of only one team. Each team is allowed to create only one account.
If a team is selected for Phase 2, at least two of the team members must take part in the model building challenge at IISc in-person.
All data provided by the competition may only be used for the purposes of this competition. Unauthorized distribution and/or commercial use of the competition materials is strictly prohibited.
Privately sharing images, data or annotation from the competition with other teams or in external fora is prohibited and grounds for disqualification.
The finalists of Phase 1 and Phase 2 need to make their code open source at the end of the competition.
Participants must submit original work and follow ethical and integrity guidelines.
The decision of the organizers in terms of the scoring, leaderboard and awards are final.
By taking part in this competition, participants allow unrestricted use of their annotations and AI models by the Indian Institute of Science, without revealing any personal details of the participants.
Participants allow anonymized usage of the game engagement and performance data for research and education by the Indian Institute of Science.
